Spring Rising: Landscape Paintings & Prints – Morton Kaish, an American artist whose paintings, drawings and prints can be found in major museums around the world brings his light and color-filled works to The Butler Institute of American Art’s Trumbull Branch. Critics have noted Kaish’s powerful ability to combine traditional and experimental painting techniques with contemporary insights, his relish for blazing rapturous color, vigorous brushwork and intricate handling produces paintings that radiate joyful exuberance. Kaish understands color, both its physical characteristics and the psychological and emotional qualities that all great artists understand and employ.

“Kaish’s way of holding nature at bay has produced a new multi-dimensional concern with line form and shape — and the outcome is a fascinating blend of the abstract and the figurative. By now, his command of the subject is nothing less than masterful; to be in the presence of these fresh and radiant paintings is to experience anew the vigorous range of his brush.” -Arts Magazine

A Meet-the-Artist Opening Reception will be held on April 2, 2017 from 1 – 3pm at the Butler Trumbull Branch in Howland Township.  The reception is open to the media and the general public.  Admission is free.
