About The Art

American artists have long been drawn to the subject of sports. The Butler’s sports gallery presents works by major American artists who have been inspired by sports themes, from boxing to baseball, including portraits of sports legends, sculptures, and still lifes of classic sports equipment. Among the many wonderful works are John Steuart Curry’s End Run, Clyde Singer’s Minor League, Gary Erbe’s Baseball Album, and Peter Maier’s Madison Avenue at Speed.
