About The Art
The Butler’s Area Artist Annual is a juried exhibition, held yearly that includes selected original artworks in all media created and submitted by artists residing in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties in Ohio; Mercer and Lawrence counties in Pennsylvania. Works include paintings in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, drawings, prints, photographs, ceramics, and sculpture.
- Reception: January 5th, 2025 from 1-3pm
- Awards presentation at 2pm
- Free admission & open to the public
- Limited parking available in the Butler lot
- Overflow parking available in YSU F1 lot
Artwork pickup: February 26th-28th between 10am and 3pm

89th National Midyear Exhibition at the Butler
The 89th National Midyear Exhibition presents works by contemporary artists 18 years and older who reside within the United States or its territories. Two-dimensional works in all media, including digital work and photography, are in the exhibition. This year’s juror is Dr. Louis Zona, Director Emeritus of The Butler Institute of American Art.
