About The Art
Peter Maier has rewritten the book on American Realist art. Clearly he has re-invented this genre of painting in both remarkable skills honed over five centuries, and the development of applying space aged pigments which play a major role in his achievements. This exhibition of Maier’s recent work reaches towards the sky, with super-real depictions of legends of American culture including Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, Bruce Sprigsteen, Janis Joplin, Andy Warhol – and feautres a triptych of Oscar Schindler, Steven Spielberg and Elie Wiesel. Legends is powerful in both subject and execution, and makes us realize that Peter Maier is a modern day Leonardo, who blends skill with technical innovation. The art that he has produced, as seen in this remarkable exhibition portraying rock stars and icons, will long be honored and enjoyed.
