Midyear Exhibition Announcement:
A couple years ago, we announced a new alternating cycle for the Butler Institute of American Art’s National Midyear Exhibition. The time has arrived and moving forward the juried Midyear Exhibition will take place every other year, with the Midyear Prize Exhibition in the alternating years.
Last year, we debuted the Midyear Prize Exhibition with the incredible work of John Jude Palencar, and we’re excited to continue this new tradition! This year’s recipient is Autumn Joi, whose powerful figurative work will be on view from August 31 – October 5, 2025. Stay tuned for more about her and her exhibition.
The next Juried Midyear Show will take place on July 12, 2026, with the prospectus announcement coming in early 2026 on our website. The 2027 Midyear Prize will go to one of the entrants to the 2026 juried show. More details will be outlined in the prospectus which will be available on our website in early 2026.
