FRED STALOFF: MAJOR WORKS FROM THE COLLECTION
EXHIBITION: OCTOBER 11, 2020-JANUARY 2021
New Jersey has produced an extraordinary number of distinguished painters over the past two centuries. Among them is Fred Staloff (1924-2019) whose career spanned over 6 decades, and whose work represents every major art movement of the twentieth century, from American Scene Painting through Modes of Abstraction. The Butler is presenting a remarkable survey of Staloff’s artistic output in a tribute exhibition titled Fred Staloff: Major Works from The Collection. It is our hope that this exceptional collection, drawn from the Butler Institute’s permanent collection, will serve to educate the community, particularly students, from regional universities, public schools, and art centers as to the nature of artistic accomplishment . The exhibition runs through January.
