Exhibition extended through November 7, 2021
The Small Hours is an exhibition of mixed media artworks by artist Joy White (1962 – 2020), inspired by her path through Stage 3c ovarian cancer. Each artwork represents a step or thought, emotion, action or reaction through a phase of Joy’s path through managing her life with a terminal illness.
The exhibition includes The Small Hours series of 19 wall sculptures and 22 works titled The Containment Series.
Joy White was an artist who possessed remarkable skills. But it is not simply technical prowess that distinguishes her work. She was amazingly innovative with a truly unique view of our visual universe. Her work is both beautiful and thought provoking. Hers is an art that both challenges and soothes.
