Learn more about the world of art and artists through our Film on Art program. We offer a variety of films, with something for everyone. Check out our seasonal schedule to see which films we are currently showing.
Each Tuesday at noon in the Zona Auditorium located in the Butler’s Beecher Center.
The Film on Art series is presented free of charge and open to the public.
Each film usually is at least an hour to an hour and a half long.

December 30, 2025: The Power of the Past: Florence. Journalist Bill Moyers examines the economic ferment of the Renaissance in Florence and the magnificent art it produced. (90 min.
January 6: Sister Wendy visits the Cleveland Museum of Art (1 hr.) Sister Wendy Beckett offers her unique viewpoint on some of the CMA’s treasures.
January 13: Sister Wendy visits the Chicago Art Institute. (1 hr.)
January 20: Alfred Stieglitz: The Eloquent Eye. This documentary examines the life and work of the groundbreaking photographer and gallerist who did so much to champion modern art in America. (1 hr. of a 90-minute film)

February 3: Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Master American Sculptor (1 hr.)
February 10: Georgia O’Keeffe. The work of one of America’s most famous painters is explored in this 45-minute documentary.
February 17: Séraphine (Part 1.) This is the true story of a simple French housekeeper who in 1905, at age 41, began painting brilliantly colorful canvases. (1 hr.)

March 3: Art of the Western World, Part 4: “The High Renaissance” (1 hr.)
March 10: Understanding Art: Baroque and Rococo. Our favorite art historian and critic, Waldemar Januszczak, returns to explain these seminal movements of the 17th and 18th centuries. (1 hr.)
